Christian Doppler Laboratory "Biomechanics in skiing"
The Christian Doppler Laboratory “Biomechanics in Skiing“ investigates the biomechanical movement patterns of persons in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and in snowboarding. In the centre of attention are the occurring strains on the active and passive locomotor system. Functional demand profiles for the respective equipment are developed on the basis of the results of these field studies.
The gained results are used jointly with the partner companies for the development of new products or the adaptation of existing ones.
Finally the influence of new or modified materials on the movement behaviour or the load on the skier/snowboarder is investigated.
